Dr Gireesh Shrimali and Dr Xiaoyan Zhou.
Lead, Sustainable Finance Performance and Research Associate in Transition Finance
Dr Xiaoyan Zhou leads the Sustainable Finance Performance theme at the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group. Her research interests focus on Sustainable Investment, Transition Risk and Institutional Shareholder Engagement. She publishes in journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics and serves as reviewer for various journals including Nature Climate Change. She won the PRI 2019 Best Quantitative Paper Award.
DPhil student and Research Assistant
Anthony Limburg studies for a DPhil in Financial Economics at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. His research focuses on corporate ownership structures and sustainable finance.
He previously conducted research at the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group and holds degrees from the University of Oxford and the University of St. Gallen.
Research Assistant in Transition Finance
Christian Wilson is a Research Assistant in the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group at the University of Oxford. Alongside his work at Oxford, Christian is a Policy Advisor at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), focusing on Green Finance within the Clean Growth Directorate. Previously, he worked at ShareAction, the University of Cambridge, and Janus Henderson Investors.
Head of Transition Finance Research
Dr Gireesh Shrimali is the Head of Transition Finance Research at the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group and the Technical Lead in the Secretariat for the UK Transition Plan Taskforce, established by HM Treasury in 2022.
He is also a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Climate Finance and Investment at Imperial College London as well as the Singapore Green Finance Center at Singapore Management University. Previously, he was the Director of Climate Policy Initiative’s India Program, and a Research Fellow at the Sustainable Finance Initiative as well as the Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy and Finance at Stanford University. He has taught at Johns Hopkins University, Middlebury Institute of International Studies, Indian School of Business, and Indian Institute of Management.
Dr Ben Caldecott is the founding Director of the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group at the University of Oxford Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment.
At the University of Oxford, he is the inaugural Lombard Odier Associate Professor of Sustainable Finance, the first ever endowed professorship of sustainable finance, and a Supernumerary Fellow at Oriel College, Oxford. Ben is also the founding Director and Principal Investigator of the UK Centre for Greening Finance & Investment (CGFI), established by UK Research and Innovation in 2021 as the national centre to accelerate the adoption and use of climate and environmental data and analytics by financial institutions internationally.
