Convened by the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group and ShareAction: Stewardship in Turbulent Times.
This closed-door gathering will bring together a select group of seasoned leaders with deep experience in capital markets to reflect and exchange on investor stewardship in a period of economic, environmental and geopolitical uncertainty. There is no fee for this event.
Our aim is not to rehearse familiar debates but to create space for candid and forward-looking dialogue among those shaping practice and policy at the highest levels in institutional investment.
Over the course of the day, participants will explore:
- The role of asset owners in setting stewardship expectations and rewarding robust performance in the asset management sector.
- Litigation, legislation and regulatory developments across jurisdictions that are redefining the scope and limits of fiduciary duty.
- Implications of the FRC’s revised UK Stewardship Code for market behaviour, reporting and accountability.
To support a rich discussion, the day will be structured around a series of facilitated conversations, each opened with “firestarter” contributions from invited guests. These will offer varied perspectives, without formal presentations, and are designed to provoke reflection rather than dominate the agenda.
This one-day symposium forms part of a continuing partnership between the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group and ShareAction to support thought leadership, challenge orthodoxy, and encourage ambition in the field of stewardship.
The discussions will take place under the Chatham House Rule and will be followed by a reception and dinner at Balliol College, Oxford.
We very much hope you will be able to join us. To confirm your attendance or request further information, please reply here by Friday 11th July.
