Head of Research Group (Sustainability), Puey Ungphakorn Institute for Economic Research (PIER), Bank of Thailand
Swisa Pongpech currently holds the position of Head of Research Group (Sustainability) at the Puey Ungphakorn Institute for Economic Research (PIER), Bank of Thailand. Prior to joining PIER, she served as the inaugural Deputy Director of the Sustainable Banking Division at the Bank of Thailand, where she played a key role in driving the financial sector commitment to Sustainable Banking.
Throughout her career, she has gained extensive experience working in a broad range of central banking functions and was responsible for the assessment and formulation of policies related to financial landscape development, financial liberization, financial inclusion and financial markets. She also represented the Bank in several ASEAN working groups.
She holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Strategic Management from SASIN Graduate Institute of Business Administration, Chulalongkorn University and a Bachelors degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
