Madelena Mohamed

Madelena oversees the strategic direction and execution of the Bank’s climate change agenda.  She currently co-chairs the NGFS Task Force on Capacity Building and Training.  She has experience in various aspects of financial stability including strategic, macro- and micro-prudential policies, both for the conventional and Islamic financial systems.

She was responsible for financial stability assessment and crisis management policies in the Bank including resolution strategies during the Asian financial crisis. She spearheaded the formation of the Bank’s Financial Stability Executive Committee and was the key responsible person for the inaugural Financial Sector Assessment Programme for Malaysia in 2012.

She represented the Bank in several committees including the Basel Committee Policy Development Group, IAIS Financial Stability and Technical Committee, and IFSB Technical Committee. She graduated in economics, accounting and finance from the London School of Economics and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
